The presentation of the student placement agreement in the public hospital sector was initially developed in 2006 to help clinical and teaching traineeship providers formalize their partnerships. The Student Placement Agreement (SPA) has been verified by the Student Pre-Placement Information Working Group, established in 2018. It was composed of representatives from universities, health services and the Department of Health and Personal Assistance Services (DHHS). The proposed changes to the SPA were welcomed by the health sector, with 95% believing that standardisation was beneficial. While spa is not mandatory, DHHS encourages health services offering internships for clinical health students to use the protocol. For more information about the Standardized Induction Protocol, see Standardised Student Induction Protocol. The SPA offers standardised conditions under which students from training providers can be placed with placement service providers to obtain initial and vocational training. . . .
